About
Edmond J. Bearor served as the managing partner of Rudman Winchell from 2010 to 2019. His practice includes municipal and administrative law, real estate transactions, development, and litigation. Since 2007, Ed has been recognized as a Best Lawyer, including being honored as the Best Lawyer of the Year for Zoning and Land Use Law in 2012 and 2016. He has also achieved a Distinguished rating by Martindale and is recognized by SuperLawyers.
Ed served as town administrator for Newport, Maine. He is a past chair of the Municipal Law Section of the Maine State Bar Association, and was an adjunct professor at the University of Maine in the public management program, teaching local government law to upper-class undergraduates and graduate students.
In 2016, Ed was appointed by the Maine Supreme Judicial Court as Chair of the Appellate Rules Advisory Committee. Ed serves on the Board of directors at EMDC. He also is on the Board of Eastern Maine Development Corporation and the Bangor Mechanics’ Association. A Jay, Maine, native, he is a graduate of the University of Maine and the University of Maine School of Law. Since assuming an Of Counsel role at Rudman Winchell in January 2022, Ed has been appointed to the State Board of Property Tax Review and the position of Judge of Penobscot County Probate Court by Governor Janet Mills.
