The Bangor YMCA Announces Slate of Officers, Two New Members to Board of Directors
Rich Armstrong, President of The Snowman Group, is holding a second term as President of The Bangor YMCA Board of Directors and has been a member of the Y’s Board since 2006. Rich has been a superior leader of the Board and is a strong advocate of the Y. He has been a member for his entire adult life.
Anne-Marie Storey, Attorney at Law and a Partner at Rudman Winchell, is the Vice President of the Board of Directors and has been a member of the Y’s Board since 2012. Anne-Marie adds so much to the board through her wisdom, employment law knowledge, and dedication to the Y. Anne-Marie spends time training the Y staff, and participating in activities with her family.
Brian Donahue, CFO of Bangor Nursing and Rehabilitation, is continuing his role as Treasurer of The Bangor YMCA and has been a member of the Y’s Board since 2013. Brian is Chair of the Y’s Finance Committee, and has participated in Y activities while his sons were growing up.
Susan Faloon, is the Secretary of the Board of Directors and has been a member of the Y’s Board since 2014. Susan is an active member of the Gala Committee, Annual Campaign, and many other special projects.

In addition to the Y announcing its slate of Officers, Armstrong made the following announcement, “On behalf of the entire board, Diane Dickerson, our CEO, and the dedicated staff of the Y, I am honored to announce the addition of Tammy Higgins and Tyler Smith to our 2016-2017 Board of Directors. We are excited to have these two Past Presidents of The Bangor YWCA and Bangor YMCA be a part of the Board!”
Tammy L. Higgins, CPA is the Chief Operating Officer of Epstein Properties. She oversees development and management of a portfolio of commercial and residential properties. Her diverse responsibilities include: development and implementation of company strategy, operations and project management, financial, legal and insurance oversight.
Higgins served as President of The Bangor YWCA (2006-2007) and was the Co-Chair of the YM/YW Joint Operations Committee. “It’s an honor to be a part of The Bangor YMCA Board of Directors and this Y’s unique history. I have seen this Y change throughout the years and the strides it has made these past few years shows how much the staff and volunteers of this Y care about our community.”
Tyler Smith is the President of Greenway Equipment Sales, a John Deere Dealership with two stores in Ellsworth and Bangor. He is part owner of Greenway Equipment Sales with his brother and father, Mitchell and Carl W. Smith, Jr., continuing the work of the Smith Family owned business for the past 22 years.
Smith served as President of The Bangor YMCA Board of Directors from 2007-2008 and has continued to be a huge supporter of the Y’s youth programs. “I have seen this Y change the lives of so many children through their programs and it’s an honor to know that my efforts as a supporter, campaigner, and now Board Member helps make a difference in the lives of the future leaders of our community.”
