We are thrilled to announce the newest member of our team, Justin Bennett, who joins us as Senior Counsel at Rudman Winchell. With an impressive background and a wealth of experience, Justin brings a unique blend of expertise and a client-centric approach to our firm.
Born and educated in England, Justin’s legal journey began as a Solicitor, where he honed his skills for six years before venturing to the United States. Throughout his career, he has handled a wide range of cases. Over time, Justin transitioned to specialize in real estate, corporate transactions, governance advice for non-profit organizations, and representation of land trusts, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to excellence.
One of the hallmarks of Justin’s career is his remarkable track record of success. He has presented numerous cases before the Maine Supreme Court, with an impressive four out of five victories—a testament to his skillful advocacy and strategic thinking. Justin received an award from the Maine State Bar Association for his Pro Bono work in Hancock County.
Beyond his legal expertise, Justin’s commitment to understanding his clients’ needs goes above and beyond the call of duty. Motivated by personal tragedy, he approaches each case with reflection, attentive listening, and an open mind, ensuring a deep understanding of his clients’ unique circumstances. By providing pragmatic guidance and empowering his clients, Justin consistently achieves outcomes that surpass initial expectations.
Justin’s educational background is equally impressive. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Law with honors from London Metropolitan University and completed the Law Society Finals program with high honors at Guildford College of Law. He was admitted as a Solicitor to the Law Society of England and Wales in 1994 and became a member of the Maine State Bar Association in 2002.
To stay at the forefront of legal developments and contribute to the legal community, Justin actively engages in numerous professional organizations. He is a member of the Maine Land Conservation Attorney Network, as well as the real estate section of the Maine State Bar. Justin’s commitment to community service extends beyond the legal realm, as he serves as a Director of Friends of Acadia, supporting projects that assist Acadia National Park, and as the Clerk at the Blue Hill Country Club.
Outside of the legal field, Justin is an avid outdoor enthusiast, finding solace, inspiration, and the necessary discipline to navigate complex legal challenges through activities such as biking, hiking, and running. His dedication to endurance sports has cultivated the focus, determination, and strategic thinking that underpin his success as an attorney.
